The boys varsity basketball team lost a heartbreaker against rival Maryvale this week. Both teams came into the game with only one loss on the season. This game would decide the division champion. It was a back and forth battle for most of the game. Jake Maryniewski played well on both sides of the court, and Ricky Coburn continued to be a scoring leader. Maryvale unfortunately went on a third quarter streak and opened up a ten point lead. The Wildcats refused to give up though cutting the lead to three late in the fourth quarter. The team fell short however with some late missed free throws. The boys will most definately use this loss as a motivator heading into the playoffs. The boys will end their regular season with the senior night game on Wednesday February 17th.
